Sure, crafts made out of Popsicle sticks are cute. But where's the lesson in elastic energy? Where's the brilliantly explosive spring-loaded device? Where's the fun of watching your creation detonate with surprising force and speed? They're all right here in the Stick Bombs kit.
Weave together multi-colored Popsicle sticks and tongue depressors in countless configurations and get ready to be awed by the chain reaction that starts by removing just one stick. The instruction booklet includes directions for building eight Stick Bombs, as well as a catapult, a ballista, and a slingshot.
Those last three will come in handy for ambushing pesky kid brothers or waging office warfare on a slow Friday afternoon when the boss is away.
The IdeaMake use of potential kinetic energy with Popsicle stick grenades and launchers.

Excellent Basic Physics
It makes a super introductory physics lesson for stored/potential energy, and it's very hands-on, which they love.
Yesss, the blue sticks turn your fingers blue, especially if you are the person holding down the sticks as you assemble the bomb.
But it's NOT like they turn Avatar blue; just a bit blue on all the tips. The color doesn't all wash out with soap and water the first time, either, but I guess you could say it really doesn't bother us.
Overall, we really enjoy building bombs together as a family!
Two BLUE thumbs-up!
