Why Does InSight Focus on Visual Processing?
Your ability to see depends as much on your brain as on your eyes. The eyes take in visual information, but it's the brain's job to process that information. If your brain processing slows or gets "fuzzy," as often happens with age or under certain other conditions, your ability to take in, react to, and remember what you see in the world around you diminishes.
We often don't notice that visual processing is weakening. It happens so gradually that we're barely aware. But the net result is that it takes us longer to spot things around us, which can be a real problem when the thing you don't see in time is a skateboarder careening towards you, a key piece of information in a document you're reading, or even just a play at the basketball game you're attending. Weaker visual processing also means you can't remember as well: if the brain doesn't see something sharply, it can't remember it sharply, either.
InSight does for your brain what glasses do for the eyes—and more. It sharpens your perception, but it also expands that perception and speeds up your ability to react. So that when that skateboarder comes towards you, you have time to step on the brakes or step out of the way before either of you get hurt.
By speeding up and sharpening visual processing, InSight takes a very different, "roots up" approach to brain health and fitness. This roots up approach is what makes all Posit Science programs uniquely effective.
All of Posit Science's programs have been proven effective in gold-standard clinical studies. The technology in InSight has been the subject of dozens of studies, including the large, multicenter ACTIVE study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. Many of these studies have been funded by the National Institutes of Health. These studies have shown a series of benefits from using InSight for just 10 hours, and indicate that many of the benefits last for at least 5 years after use. Findings include that the InSight technology:
- Increases visual processing speed by up to 300%
- Doubles the size of useful field of view
- Improves reaction time, decreases unsafe driving maneuvers, and cuts risk of a car accident by 50%
- Leads to a 38% reduction in the risk of serious decline in health-related quality of life
- Results in more happy days, with a 30% reduction in the risk of serious decline in mood
- Helps people maintain their independence over 5 years by improving their ability to perform basic tasks of daily living
