Chaos is a game of strategy based on the principle of sandpile chaos theory. World-renowned physicists could explain the theory with all sorts of astute hypotheses and complicated equations that, admittedly, we don’t fully understand. The gist of it is this: when one sand pile is getting smaller, another is getting bigger. In the game of Chaos, players take turns stacking discs on the board. Once a stack reaches four discs, it gets redistributed in all four directions around it—just like the sand pile. While it may seem chaotic, this is a game of pure strategy, lots of surprises and moments of sheer glee.

How to Play:

Two players choose sides. One player gets the orange pieces and one player gets the blue pieces. Players take turns placing their pieces on any of the nine circles on the board - either in an empty space or on top of other pieces. When a player places the fourth piece onto a stack, the pieces topple.  The piece that was just played moves one space away from the player who placed it (12 o'clock); the next piece down moves to the player's right (3 o'clock); next piece moves down (6 o'clock) and the last piece moves to the left (9 o'clock).  If this causes another stack to have four pieces, the process is repeated.  If pieces end up outside of the nine playing spaces, they are returned to their owner.

How to Win:

The first player to get all of all of their pieces onto the board is the winner.

The Marbles BrainCoach says...

Chaos is one of my favorite strategy games, and I love playing it with my friends because it makes me look smart. They claim I am so good at it because my life is chaos, but we all know they're just jealous.
