In case you missed it, Dawn Jackson Blatner, a registered dietitian from Marbles Lincoln Square neighbor The Chopping Block, gave us tips on how to use diet to boost memory. She also presented a few recipes, including this Brain Boost Smoothie. It was delicious, and I wouldn't believe it included spinach if I didn't see it myself! Brain Boost Smoothie Makes 2.5 cups (whole recipe is great for breakfast or just have 1/2 for snack) INGREDIENTS 16 ounces unsweetened vanilla almond milk 1 cup frozen blueberries 1/2 cup frozen banana slices (1/2 large banana) 1 cup baby spinach 1 Tablespoon honey 1 Tablespoon ground flaxseeds DIRECTIONS In blender, puree ingredients until smooth. Note: Add ice for thicker consistency.
Thanks to Dawn for a delightful way to boost our brain power! Why not complement a brain-healthy diet with exercises to boost memory as well? We recommend the Better Memory Kit, which is filled with memory-building activities and tips.
